Detoxing the Whole Body

It is time to look at detoxing your body and getting your body in fabulous shape for the holidays.

Do you feel like you’re in a rut it is time to clean your mind and body

and change the way you eat and move.

Detoxing for 4 weeks will give you the best results, you can also get good results for 7 days or even just a weekend can be a great start.

If you want to live in harmony and be the best version of yourself you

need to look at the whole body and that begins at the top in your mind.

Reconnecting our bodies with our minds starts with your breath and we breathe all day long without realising it.   Most of us aren’t really activating the true potential of this inner resource.  Our breath lives within us and it moves through us to sustain us.  It is at the root of who we are.

When we are stressed our breath is the first thing to be affected, when external tension enters our bodies our breath becomes short and shallow.  We all know how our breathing affects us when we are anxious or stressed but do you know how to train yourself to be relaxed and movable even during times of stress.

The best breathing I have done is by Wim Hof it is very simple it doesn’t take very long but if you do it everyday you will see a major difference in your sleeping ,

energy, stress and anxiety.

Clean Mind Practice

You have started to look at detoxing the mind now it is time to look at goals for the detox.

Here are some examples of what your goals should be –

1.    I want to wake up with lots of energy.

2.   I want to get sick less.

3.   I want to have clearer skin.

4.   I want to have a purpose.

5.   I want to feel more connected to family and friends.

6.   I want to lose some weight.

You aren’t just changing what you eat you are changing bad habits and retraining your bodies with clean new habits.

Creating a sanctuary for yourself can be very important so while you are detoxing your body you can be decluttering your house and making a small sanctuary just for yourself.

Remember to keep up your practice breathing to keep up your mental detoxing.  (You will feel amazing after this)

Start your first day with yoga and meditation this is the first part of detox by movement you can start with 10 minutes yoga and 10 minutes meditation.

Always find time for a walk in the morning or afternoon 30 minutes of walking in nature with trees, plants and near water your body will love you for this.

Walking in the morning always makes me more productive during the day.

Just being one with nature is wonderful for the soul.

Catch up with a friend for a walk, this socialising and exercising is important for cultivating balance in your life.

Find time for yourself in your little sanctuary read a book just for pleasure.

Try not to be tied to your device’s and stay away from social media.  It is very easy to fall into the black hole of social media and you have lost an hour just watching it.

I want to feel like my use of technology supports my creativity rather than diminish it and feel inspired professionally and continue my education to improve my skills.

Stop scrolling and carry a book.

Spend more time with your relationships whether we are aware of it or not we are all leaders and we lead with the energy that we put out into the world and that energy is contagious.  It affects everyone we encounter.

How to Find your Spiritual Flow

Finding  your spiritual flow is being in the zone this is found by being with oneself and meditation.  It might sound like a lot of hoo haa but it is known fact that this works amazingly well by creating endorphins that relax you.

How to change the way you eat.

When you feel mentally and spiritually balanced with a settled mind it becomes much easier to go through the clean body phase of your detox.

It is Journal Time.

This is the time to write in your journal all the reasons that stop you from succeeding in changing your eating habits.

1.      What time of the day do cravings kick in.

2.     Do you tend to overindulge in junk when you are not feeling so great mentally or physically.

3.     Where do you eat is it on the run, in front of the TV or computer do you ever focus solely on what you are eating.

4.    Do you have time to cook properly for yourself or do you dine out frequently.

5.     Do you get anxious around food does worrying about what to eat cause you stress.

6.    Do certain triggers effect what you eat.

Clean Eating Rule

Always eat fresh, local and organic.

It is always best to detox in warm weather your body handles getting rid of toxins better than in the cold weather.

How to get started -

You’ve already made the first step and decided that you’re going to detox.

Detoxing isn’t about depriving yourself, it’s about treating your body to the tastiest, healthiest foods ad treatments.

Before going on a detox, you should be medically fit and not pregnant.

Checking with your doctor can always be a good idea.

This detox is set up for 7 days you can do longer or shorter but 7 days is a good start for your body.   You can also start off on 1 day detox and move on to a 3 day and 7 day detox it is totally up to you.

We are all guilty of eating and drinking the wrong things and perhaps you have overdone it on alcohol, rich foods and caffeine or maybe your stressed out and your body and mind need a break.

Detoxing enables your body to take a rest from processing excessing amounts of fats, sugars, alcohol and processed foods which puts a strain on our organs, causes sluggishness and excess weight gain.

Looking at What you eat on a Detox.

Your food needs to be clean as possible, organic if not make sure you wash or peel your produce.

Try and keep away from processed foods so anything packaged the additives in these products are not good for your body.

All fruit and vegetables are going to be good for you try and have a wide variety.

Try and eat organic meats eg.  chicken, fish, lean meat and eggs are fine.  If you can go off red meat for the total time of the detox it will give you a great start.

There are things that you will need to eliminate for the detox –

Caffeine (teas and coffee) Bread, Dairy Products, Wheat Products (such as pasta) Sugary snacks and sugar and All pre-packaged foods such as take-outs.

Especially processed meat’s .

No dairy but plant based milk products can be better option for you.  If you have any cholesterol problems don’t eat any coconut products.   Coconut is the big flavour of the month especially in plant based diets they add coconut to everything plant based or vegan and it is not good for cholesterol levels.

Just remember processed plant based and vegan foods can be bad for you (if they take something out of processed food’s they usually add something bad in.)

When I first went on a vegan diet my cholesterol jumped up massively and it was the coconut products.

Nuts are fine to eat just don’t go crazy with them.

Lots of fresh herbs spices in your cooking.

When it comes to carbohydrate’s we just want really healthy ones but no biscuits cakes or sweets, majority of your carbs can come from your fruit and vegetables.

Drinks

Herbal teas, vegetable and fruit smoothies and filtered water.

Smoothies or juices can be a great way clean out your system you can add so much to them.

This is the first day you need to just follow with similar foods and following the breathing, meditation, exercise and journaling for however long you want to detox for.

Just remember there are many healthy foods you can eat that are easy to eat and freeze especially when you are busy.  I love healthy vegie soups especially when I am coming off a detox.

Carry on with a similar formula for Sunday.

Remember the worst thing you can do after a detox is go back to eating fast food and processed food.

WHAT GOALS DO YOU WISH TO ACHIEVE WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED YOUR DETOX.

Write in your journal at the end of your detox what goals you have achieved.  Write a big tick next to them you will feel really good now and give yourself a big pat on the back.
